Gallery in the Town Hall Forum

Hours of operation: Mon, Thurs, Fri, 9:00 – 16:00, Tues 11:00 – 18:00, closed on Wednesdays.

Formally in the Town Hall basement, the Gallery was moved downstairs in the Town Hall Forum in 1999. Every month exhibitions are held from local and international artists. Each exhibition will have an opening event and then be viewable for about a month. Each year the Knittelfeld Art Prize is awarded. The award and the winning exhibition are held in the Gallery. The Gallery is accessible through the town library.  
Current and future exhibitions can be found on the events calender. Pictures from past exhibitions are viewable under „past events“.

Please submit the following documents to the Town Hall

 

  • a written request to the Town Hall.
  • a written art portfolio.
  • a picture portfolio.
  • a preferred date for the exhibition.

All submissions are collected and then in early summer it is decided who gets to hold their exhibition in the Gallery. Due to the amount of submissions we receive, it is not possible to grant every exhibition request. If you do not get to display your exhibition in the year you requested, please try again the following year. Please understand that only written submissions will be accepted.

There is a 50.00€ fee to display your exhibition. 

This covers:

  • The rent for the space as well as operating costs,
  • invitations, printed by the Town Hall, which are sent out to those on our distribution list and postage.
  • 20 invitations for the exhibitor,
  •  Invitations sent per E-Mail
  •  organizing and conducting the opening event as well as providing a buffet and refreshments.
  • The entire press work – advanced announcements and follow-up reports.

The exhibitor must ensure his or her own insurance. The Town Hall will not pay for the costs of transportation or any damage.
