Hiking trails

Benediktweg

A pilgrimage route called Benediktweg, named after the founder Benedict of Nursia, leads from St. Paul in Lavanttal up to Spital on Pyhrn. The 150 Km long hiking trail connects 3 countries and 3 dioceses. Knittelfeld is located on this pilgrimage trail which leads to contemplation,peace and strength. Wipfelwanderweg (tree-top experience)

The remarkable path is 2.7 km through pristine nature. More impressive is the tree top trail, a massive larch wood construction, approximately 20 meters above the forest floor, with stairs, towers, bridges and platforms.

Hours of operation: End of April until the end of September, daily, 9:00 – 18:00

Apfelberger Panoramaweg (panorama route)

The route starts at Gasthof Hoffelner in Apfelberg and goes past the dog trainging compound and on to the designated lookout and picnic areas „Aichfeldblick“ and „Seetaler Alpenblick“ leading to Thalberghof and further onto the „Seckauer Alpenblick“ through the forest of Gut Landschach and ending at the pond, Goldhügel. Distance 5.4 km, walking time approximately 2 ½ hours.
